Summer is coming to an end, but there are still fun things to do on the weekends with your family and friends. Get outside, have fun, and support Utah’s local vendors by visiting a farmers market near you.

5 Utah Swimming Holes to Visit This Summer


The heat is upon us in Utah and it’s not going anywhere, anytime soon. Beat the heat and experience the natural beauty that Utah has to offer by visiting these swimming holes that are sure to impress.

Toquerville Falls

Located just outside Zions National Park in a secluded area, this swimming hole is a desert oasis.

Homestead Crater

An all-natural geothermal pool located in Midway. The water stays at a toasty 96 degrees and is great for floating around or even scuba diving.

Fifth Water Hot Springs

This place is a little piece of heaven on earth where the natural hot spring pools are fed by a beautiful waterfall. Located in the middle of Diamond Fork Canyon.

Mona Rope Swings

Located about 30 minutes south of Provo at the Mona Ponds. They have multiple platforms you can use to swing out to the water and there is even a small rope swing for younger kids to try out.

Mill Creek North Fork Canyon Swimming Hole

This beautiful spot in Moab is considered the local swimming hole, and a nice relaxing place to beat the heat.

It’s the most wonderful time of year! Time to get out with your families and enjoy the holidays. We have gathered a list of many events and light shows that you won’t want to miss.

Luminaria at Thanksgiving Point

This year marks the 15th Anniversary of the Holiday Open House at Red Butte Garden! Enjoy local artists, cider, and hot chocolate, while exploring the winter gardens.

Spanish Fork’s Festival of Lights

Utah’s Tallest Christmas Tree

Utah’s tallest Christmas tree is at the Outlets at Traverse Mountain.

See the timeless Christmas classic during its 25th anniversary tour in Utah.

Salem’s Pond Town Christmas

The display in Salem includes lights floating on a pond in Knoll Park.




Halloween Utah County – 2016


The Halloween season is upon us and there are many things to do!

We’ve created a list of events coming up in the Utah County area that you won’t want to miss out on. So get the family together, spruce up your costumes, and go out for some fun!

Halloween Lift Rides
October 20-31
Just like the Full Moon Lift ride, but a little spookier! Fun games, hot chocolate, & snacks are for sale, as well as blankets for those that forget. On weather permitting nights, a complimentary movie plays at the base.

Kid friendly and scary corn mazes, cow train, slides, zipline, pumpkins, corn cannons, pig races, and much more!

Halloween Carnival
October 29
Come in costume to the Recreation Center for a chance to wander the Wonderland Cake Walk, take a shot at Angry Birds, create some autumn crafts, and dozens of other activities. Entertainment, crafts, and character meet-and-greets will give every member of the family something to enjoy.
Older and scarier events for kids ages 10+

Pumpkin Carving Contest
Central Utah Gardens – Orem
October 28
Carved, painted, and decorated pumpkins can be dropped off from Noon – 6:00 pm
The pumpkins will be displayed at the pumpkin walk the following day.
Cash prizes will be awarded to contest winners.

Free admission. Come walk through the gardens and enjoy the fall colors as well as the pumpkin entries from the pumpkin carving contest. Fun activities for all members of the family. Free gift for each person wearing a costume. Puking Pumpkin demonstrations throughout the day.

Sundance Halloween Zipline

Includes Demo and Outlaw spans, plus a Halloween Lift Ride.

Hee Haw Farms
Open until November 5
Hee Haw Farms is the place to pick out the perfect pumpkin for your porch. Children of every age will enjoy the corn maze, silo slide, hayrides, petting farm and more great activities.

Halloween Cruise Down the Provo River
October 1-31
Get ready for an epic experience your kids will never forget with a Halloween cruise down the Provo River. Delight in jack-o-lanterns reflecting off the water and a spooky story, but beware of pirates, matey. Kids will love this fun event, with some candy handed out by a special visitor.
