Pioneer Day is an annual state holiday in Utah meant to celebrate and honor the pioneers who demonstrated industry and bravery when they ventured to settle in what is now Salt Lake City. Celebrations are traditionally held on July 24th throughout the state, and include parades, pioneer games, and fireworks.
